MY “NANAS”

I created a series of paintings inspired by Niki de Saint Phalle’s iconic Nana, infused with my own personal interpretation. This series focuses on the feminine world and its deeper, more complex nuances. The Nana figures, colorful and powerful, represent a bold and vibrant vision of women—an unstoppable force making its way through society and art. In this series, I aimed to explore the contrast between the public image of femininity and its many inner dimensions.

My paintings balance the overturning of clichés with the exploration of simple truths. The female figures are depicted in a playful yet serious manner, as if they wish to narrate, with an ironic smile, the numerous challenges and contradictions of everyday life. I sought to bring to life a woman who embodies a world of emotions, experiences, and desires. The series is a tribute to the strength and fragility of women, showcasing their dreams and contradictions in a continuous dialogue between visual strength and the intimacy of their stories.
